Describe the problem
Enter soil properties, a frequency or frequency range, and geometric constraints within the model’s supported scope.
Interactive application
An application in development to explore how gabion geometry affects ground vibration and compare promising configurations within practical constraints.
Scientific question
Gabions are cages filled with stones. Used as barriers, they interact with waves travelling through the ground. We are developing a tool to connect this research with a practical question: how do soil properties, excitation frequency and available space affect the choice of barrier geometry?
Enter soil properties, a frequency or frequency range, and geometric constraints within the model’s supported scope.
Explore candidate geometries against a matching case without a barrier, using the same excitation and receiver definition.
Export the inputs, comparison results and software version so that another person can repeat the analysis.
We are establishing which soil profiles, material behaviours and geometries the underlying model supports. The release documentation will define the excitation, barrier placement, receiver, response component and attenuation measure, together with supported ranges and the distinction between a single frequency and a frequency band.
There is no public software release or published verification record for this application yet. Its supported capabilities and example results will follow the assessment of the underlying research model.
No software results have been released. Reproducible examples will include the model inputs, reference cases, comparison outputs and software version used.
We plan a getting-started tutorial, a reproducible comparison and an accessible explanation of the method. These will accompany the first release, together with the model assumptions and limits.
Developed within SSI Lab · University of Campinas. Individual authors and contribution roles will be credited with the first release.
Release-specific funding acknowledgments will accompany the first release.
