Open Research

We are opening our research software so that others can reproduce calculations, build on our methods and use them in teaching and practice. We aim to share the code together with the knowledge needed to understand its results and limits.

Research resources

Our first planned release brings gabion-barrier research into an interactive application.

Share the method, extend the research.

Reproduce

Trace a result back to its inputs, numerical method and software version, and repeat the calculation.

Reuse

Adapt research codes to new questions, with clear authorship, licensing and citation information.

Learn and apply

Use tutorials, worked examples and accessible explanations to connect mechanics with research, classroom learning and engineering practice.

A result should be possible to revisit.

Each software release will identify its version, authors, scientific scope and supporting checks. Documentation and reproducible examples will accompany links to the source code and versioned downloads.

Where we archive a release, its persistent identifier will provide a stable reference for citation. Updates will have their own release records, so an earlier calculation can still be traced to the code used.
